707 Operations is returning with our restored steam locomotives and vintage train to Bacchus Marsh on Saturday 17 November 2018 for the Strawberry and Cherry Festival evening. Book you tickets here.
Due to postponement of our origional Mernda and Hurstbridge tour due to track work, we have a last minute opportunity for our final steam trip of 2018 to Bacchus Marsh for the Strawberry and Cherry Festival as part of a rollingstock transfer. Travel in comfort and style on our Vintage Steam-Hauled Train and experience Victoria's strawberry and cherry capital along with viewing the Ballarat Line Upgrade Works currently underway. Our steam-hauled twilight excursion train will transport you from the heart of Melbourne to Bacchus Marsh and back, to explore the evening of Strawberry and Cherry Festival featuring street food, live music and fireworks.
Our train will travel from Southern Cross to Bacchus Marsh with our steam locomotive R707 for the trip. Our trip offers the perfect opportunity to spend a couple hours in Bacchus Marsh exploring the Festival or dinner with friends before returning to Melbourne.
The trip coincides with Bacchus Marsh's Strawberry and Cherry Festival weekend which and celebrates the many wonderful attributes of the regions produce. Music will be provided by a variety of bands. There will be entertainment for the kids and adults can sample local gourment food and wine, as well as a gold coin donation for shuttle bus between the station and Festival. Our air-conditioned train will included both open saloon-type carriages and compartment carriages seating a maximum of eight passengers to a compartment. Cafe Hudson will serve expresso coffee, Devonshire teas and assorted cakes and snacks.
The train will include the popular lounge bar Club Car Victoria. The carriage is licensed and will offer a full bar service with a selection of ales, wine, sparkling and mixed spirits.
