Somerville Sojourn and the Mornington Tourist Railway Saturday 30 March
Join 707 Operations on our mainline diesel locomotive hauled heritage train, travelling from Newport and Melbourne's Southern Cross Station to Somerville and onwards to the Mornington Railway, via a short coach connection to their train at the Moorooduc station. Book your tickets here.
From Moorooduc, we will join the Mornington Railway with two return trips over their preserved railway line to Mornington. One trip will be hauled by their restored T class diesels T 334 and T 411, with the second trip hauled by W class diesel shunt locomotive W 241.
Lunch will be provided during the layover time in Moorooduc and this is included in your rail fare for this excursion.
After our visit to the Mornington Railway, coaches will once again return us the short distance to Somerville station to connect with our heritgae diesel hauled train for the journey home to Melbourne and Newport.
For those who don't wish to visit the Mornington Railway, stay in Somerville and enjoy lunch at one of the many eateries that are located close to the Somerville railway station, or stay on the coach at Moorooduc for a shopping trip to Mornington.

Our standard class carriages will feature open saloon and compartment style seating areas in carriages which date from the 1950's. A licenced cafe carriage will be attached and is available for all passengers throughout the journey serving a wide range of beer, wines and spirits along with hot and cold snack foods, confectionary, tea and coffee.

Departing Newport Metro station at 8.50 am the train will also pick up passengers at Southern Cross station (9.10 am). We arrive into Somerville at 10.55 am.
The return journey will depart from Somerville station at 4.20 pm, and drop off passengers at Southern Cross station at 5.50pm and Newport Metro station at 6.00 pm.
The trip provides a great opportunity for a group of friends and family explore the Mornington Railway and travel in style.
